Methodology
How CryptonicTools turns public market data and local math into the numbers you see. Informational only — not financial advice.
Mid-market conversion rates
Pair pages call CoinGecko simple/price (and related chart endpoints) with roughly 60-second server revalidation and shared in-memory caching. Crypto-to-fiat uses the coin’s quote currency; fiat-to-crypto inverts; crypto-to-crypto uses available vs_currency quotes; fiat-to-fiat bridges via bitcoin.
Displayed rates are mid-market indexes. They are not bid/ask on any exchange, bank wire rate, or P2P advert. Stablecoins (including USDT) use the same index approach — not a guarantee of $1 redemption.
Fee-aware profit
Invested = buy price × quantity × (1 + buy fee %). Proceeds = sell price × quantity × (1 − sell fee %). P&L = proceeds − invested. ROI = P&L / invested. Break-even sell approximates invested / (quantity × (1 − sell fee %)). Fold gas or deposit costs into the fee fields when they matter. Math runs in your browser.
Gas bands
Ethereum prefers Etherscan gasoracle when a key is configured, otherwise Blockscout. Other chains use public RPC eth_gasPrice with simple low/high bands. Treat results as triage, then simulate in your wallet.
DCA and historical prices
DCA buys a fixed USD amount on the first available CoinGecko candle each month, then marks coins to live spot. Historical price uses CoinGecko history for a calendar date. Past simulated ROI is not a promise of future results.
DeFi and risk estimates
Liquidation, LTV, impermanent loss, funding, and similar tools use transparent simplified models. They will not match every venue’s insurance fund, mark price, or concentrated-liquidity curve. Confirm on the protocol or exchange you use.
Sentiment
Fear & Greed displays Alternative.me’s published index and recent history. CryptonicTools does not recompute their underlying formula.
