How to use Tx Fee Estimator

Pick gas used for your action type and a gas price assumption. Read estimated network fee before you broadcast elsewhere.

Example: a Bitcoin transaction at 20 sat/vB

A typical one-input, two-output transaction is about 140 vbytes. The network rate is 20 sat/vB and BTC is $65,000.

  1. Fee = 140 × 20 = 2,800 sats
  2. In BTC = 2,800 ÷ 100,000,000 = 0.000028 BTC
  3. In dollars = 0.000028 × $65,000 = $1.82

The fee is about $1.82. Fees depend on transaction size in vbytes, not on how much you send.

Formula & methodology

fee ≈ gasUsed × gasPrice (in chain native units). Convert to USD with gas-cost tools when needed.

Estimate on-chain fees before you send

Transfers, approvals, and mints burn different gas. Estimating ahead of time avoids surprise fees during congestion.

Pair with the gas tracker snapshot and gas cost USD for fiat framing. CryptonicTools does not broadcast transactions.

L2 fee models can differ — confirm on the destination chain wallet estimate.

Frequently asked questions

What does the TX fee estimator estimate?+

Network fee drag for a given gas used and gas price assumption — a cousin of the gas tracker focused on your transaction size.

Transfer vs contract — which gas used?+

Simple transfers use far less gas than mints or complex contract calls. Prefer wallet simulation numbers when available.

Does this broadcast a transaction?+

No. CryptonicTools never sends transactions. Estimate here, sign in your wallet.
