How to use Crypto Compound Interest
Enter principal, annual rate, compounding frequency, years, and optional monthly add-ons. Read projected future value under those assumptions.
Example: $5,000 plus $200 a month at 12% for 5 years
You start with $5,000, add $200 every month, and earn 12% a year compounded monthly (1.00% per month) for 5 years.
- Each month: balance = balance × (1 + 1.00%) + $200, repeated 60 times
- Total contributed = $5,000 + $200 × 60 = $17,000
- Final balance = $25,417.42
Your $17,000 grows to $25,417.42, a gain of $8,417.42 from compounding. Real crypto returns are not steady, so treat this as a what-if.
Formula & methodology
Standard compound FV with contributions. Effective yield depends on compounding periods — convert APR↔APY when sources disagree.
Project compounding on crypto-sized cashflows
Compounding math helps compare “stake-like” rates and savings-style contributions in one place. It does not guarantee protocol rewards or token prices.
Use APR→APY when a farm quotes one convention and you think in the other. Pair with staking rewards for simple stake projections.
